What We Do. . .Vision Training Via the Internet

Why is it that some people are poor readers while the majority of the population reads easily and naturally?

N2READING Corporation
has participated in pioneering research to develop a system of vision training designed to address Convergence Disorders and Intermittent Central Suppression (ICS), believed to be root causes for poor reading. Many studies over the past 40 years have linked these visual problems to reading difficulties and attention problems in children whose vision is perfect in all other physical respects
(see resources section).

Convergence Insufficiency is a condition that causes difficulty keeping both eyes pointing at the same position when doing close work. It is a condition of the visual processing system of unknown origin. ICS is a visual problem in which one of the visual pathways to the brain is intermittently shut down during reading and other visual tasks. This shutdown occurs frequently and lasts from a fraction of a second to a second or two. During these brief shutdown intervals, the eye that has been shut down wanders off the correct position for the visual task. When the pathway reopens, a momentary double vision or other visual error occurs in the visual cortex of the brain, causing confusion in the way the reader sees the written word and disrupting the reading process. Each momentary suppression continues until the wayward eye is again steered by the brain back to the text being read. A common effect is that the reader reverses letters, words, and numbers, all common symptoms of dyslexia.

A new approach to vision training
We at N2READING Corporation have developed a new proprietary training aid to correct these and related disorders. Our approach works like training wheels for the brain, and is administered via the Internet. For a more detailed explanation of our technique, click here.
