To Whom It May Concern,
It is my desire to communicate to you how Dr. Miller's treatment of Intermittent Central Suppression (ICS) led to greater success for my son, Matthew. I consider myself a patient and helpful mother, and feel well equipped, as a teacher, to assist my children academically. I had, however, reached a point of total frustration with Matt. No vision problems had been detected by the school screening process, and Matt did not indicate any problems existed. There was, however, a problem interfering with his academic progress. He seemed unable to find the answers to problems that were explained in writing, even when pointed out to him. It was as if he couldn't see what was right in front of him. We were spending hours correcting mistakes and finishing homework.
Then Dr. Miller came to Algood School to present his program. I referred three of my first grade students. I also asked him to test Matt. The next day he informed me that Matt not only qualified for the program, but that he was color blind, had astigmatism, and needed bifocals I was astounded that a problem had not been detected earlier. It was no wonder that Matt reacted so negatively when I required him to spend time reading! What child who could not effectively interpret written words wouldn't object to reading?

Dr. Miller began treatment immediately. Matt began wearing bifocals, and visited Dr. Miller's office weekly. By the time treatment ended, Matt was seeing and reading better, and his grades had improved. I am thankful Dr Miller was able to help my son. I would like to see him given the opportunity to help other children achieve success.
Now that I know what to look for, I have referred two other children to Dr. Miller. He is currently treating one of my first grade students, Dylan Bilbrey. I have witnessed improvement in Dylan's academic performance and writing ability since undergoing treatment. I have every confidence that Dylan will achieve a higher level of success attributable to Dr. Miller's intervention. I believe he has an insight that other optometrists in our area do not have.
It is imperative that we take the necessary. steps to help young children address and correct any obstacles standing in the way of learning to read effectively, and achieving success. By detecting and correcting ICS, I believe our children will have a greater chance of overcoming the obstacles that stand in the way of reaching their greatest
potential.
Sincerely yours,
Melody J. B.
